IVF with Egg donation from your Partner—ROPA
Sevilla Health Webmaster
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is an assisted reproduction technique where clinical work is combined with laboratory technique because it consists of putting male gametes (spermatozoa) in contact with female gametes (oocytes) to achieve fertilization and the initial embryonic development outside of the woman’s body (In Vitro, in laboratory, in an external, controlled environment, as close to as what would exist in nature).
Our ROPA service (Reception of Oocytes from Partner) allows women couples to be co-participants in maternity with every guarantee. After an initial consultation, the medical team will evaluate your situation and plan the next steps. It will be necessary to decide who will be the donor and who will be the recipient. First, the oocytes will be extracted from the woman who has decided to provide the female gametes.
On the day of the transfer, we select one or two embryos which have had suitable development, and they are transferred to the uterus of the woman receiving the embryo.
In this way, both women can participate in maternity.
For lesbian women couples who want to have a child.
Total assurance that the semen sample has all of the guarantees offered by our gamete bank: CEIFER Biobanco.
Possibility of conserving ova to have more offspring later.
Here are the steps that you should follow for completing your In Vitro Fertilization-ICSI treatment with Egg donation from Partner—ROPA.
From your home city
First day of menstrual period
Both partners will start treatment with birth control pills (1 pill daily).
Once you have informed about your predicted periods: assignment of a suitable donor.
At this time, the professionals from the center will tell you which drug you should acquire for the next phase of treatment.
You should select a gynecologist in your area where you will complete your monitoring ultrasounds. The most important part of this treatment is synchronizing both partners.
5 days after the end of treatment with birth control pills.
Beginning of treatment ultrasound. The purpose of this ultrasound is to confirm that ovaries have been able to “rest” due to the treatment with birth control pills and that they are in the right state. After this verification, the ovary stimulation treatment will begin.
6 days after the start of ovary stimulation treatment.
Cycle ultrasound monitoring.
Between 9 and 11 days after the start of ovary stimulation treatment.
Cycle ultrasound monitoring. This will be the last monitoring ultrasound and it should show that everything is ready for performing the ovarian puncture to extract the oocytes that will later be fertilized In-Vitro with semen from the semen bank.
Between 1 and 4 days after the end of treatment with birth control pills.
Start of treatment ultrasound. The purpose of this ultrasound is to confirm that the state of the endometrium is adequate. After this verification, the treatment for endometrial preparation will begin.
8 days after the start of endometrial preparation treatment.
Cycle ultrasound monitoring to evaluate endometrial thickness and ovaries.
Between 9 and 15 days after the start of endometrial preparation treatment.
Cycle ultrasound monitoring. This will be the last monitoring ultrasound and it should show that everything is ready to complete the final embryo transfer.
After the last monitoring ultrasounds, you will finally travel to Sevilla where they will await you for:
Between 12 and 15 days after the start of the ovary stimulation treatment
Ovarian puncture at the clinic facilities in Sevilla. Preparation of the semen sample from the semen bank. Rest after the puncture (do not travel or perform strenuous activities).
Between 3 to 5 days after the ovarian puncture is completed
After the puncture, the fertilization of the ovum has been produced with the selected sperm cells, creating a specified number of zygotes which will slowly become embryos. The MASVIDA embryology team will inform you daily about the evolution of your embryos and you will be able to see images of their development.
Once the embryos are considered ready, the EMBRYO TRANSFER will proceed.
Then you can return to your home city. The treatment has finished and there is just one last step to find out if it has been successful.
14 days after the embryo transfer
Beta gonadotrophin hormone test (beta hCG). This is a very simple blood test that can be done in any clinical analysis laboratory. The level of this hormone in the blood will give us a very accurate indicator of if the embryo has been able to implant, and therefore, if a pregnancy exists. It will be a time to celebrate!
